What can be seen when you're in Egypt? And you only have one day!







It's best to have a week or two to explore and enjoy when travelling to Egypt. However, most tourists have only one day, either because they are on a cruise or on a business trip.


Whatever the reason, on that individual day, you should plan to see as much as possible. Here are some of the most famous cities and attractions you can see in one day.


 

Cairo and Giza:





 In one day, usually, because of their proximity, most tourists go to Cairo and Giza together. You will want to put these highlights on your list when you visit this region of Egypt.

And you can visit the Cairo Tower.  There are many museums and parks in Cairo.



Pyramids of Giza






The pyramids are one of the seven wonders of the world. For the best view and avoid the crowds of impulsive vendors and delegates, be sure to book a guided tour.

 

Egypt's pyramids in Cairo are located on the Giza Plateau in Giza governorate, on the west bank of the Nile. They include three pyramids (Khufu, Khaffar, Manqr. It's your day shopping in Egypt's largest open market. This shopping mall dates back 600 years. You will find souvenirs sold in this market, you can find wonderful treasures.



Alexandria:

 







Built by Alexander the Great, one of the busiest cities in the world, it is about three hours from Cairo. Located along the Mediterranean Sea, you can enjoy local history and culture in one day along with beautiful beaches and magnificent scenery. Here are some things to do.




Library of Alexandria:











More than 8 million books can be found in this contemporary library. It was one of the largest libraries in the world. Alexandria is renowned for its learning and technology as one of the world's capitals. 


Qaitbay Castle






Walk along the coastline to the ancient castle that Alexandria has guarded since 1480. The castle doors are open to visitors all week. It is now a museum. To see the eastern port in all its glory, you can explore the interior and climb to the surface.




Com Duka:







In 1947, when the area was cleared to build new homes, this group was discovered from the rubble. However, when construction workers removed piles of rubble to find thousands of square meters of rubble, including a small Roman theatre, the place was declared a historic landmark, making your tour of Alexandria even more fascinating.

Temple of Luxor











The view is less impressive but worthwhile, you can go from Karnak to Luxor Temple in about 10 minutes. It was built around 1390 BC as a place of worship and still serves this purpose to this day, making it one of the oldest places of worship in service to date. With stunning sculptures and magnificent images, the structure is still largely intact.




Valley of the Kings:









 Complete your boat tour along the magnificent Nile to the Valley of the Kings. This is the last resting place for hundreds of pharaohs and their queens. Every cemetery is full of antiques and jewelry that you can't find anywhere else in Egypt or the world.


You can go to one of these cities easily in one day maybe two, if you are ambitious. If you want to increase your time and cover your transportation, it is highly recommended that you take a guided tour, plan all the details in advance so you don't miss anything !
